Keep GreenFirst Forest Products’ sawmill clean and safe through hands-on housekeeping, waste removal, and careful use of cleaning equipment.
As a Sawmill Cleaner, you will maintain floors, walkways, and work areas while supporting daily mill activities. The full time position includes training on entry-level production positions and relief support when needed. You will follow health, safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards throughout assigned duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean designated sawmill floors, walkways, and work areas
- Sweep, shovel, and remove sawdust and wood debris
- Empty garbage containers and dispose of waste properly
- Use cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively
- Perform fire watch duties during maintenance hot work
Requirements:
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Physically capable of standing, bending, lifting, and shovelling
- Comfortable with sawdust, noise, and varying temperatures
- Strong workplace health and safety awareness
- Industrial or commercial cleaning experience considered an asset
