Environmental risk management expertise meets VIA Rail’s Montreal operations in this onsite Environment Advisor contract. Apply ISO 14001 knowledge and bilingual communication.

Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Environment, you will support daily environmental risk management as a subject matter expert. The 12-month contract focuses on operational controls, environmental programs, compliance, incidents, and continuous improvement. Your work will involve regulatory requirements, inspections, audits, and unionized stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and propose mitigation plans
- Develop operational controls, procedures, programs, and training materials
- Maintain compliance records, databases, permits, and tracking tools
- Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective and preventive measures




- Conduct inspections, observations, audits, and management reviews

Requirements:

- University degree in environment, risk management, or related field
- Five years’ environmental risk management experience
- Robust understanding of ISO 14001 and environmental management systems
- Knowledge of environmental risk management regulations and audit experience
- Excellent written and verbal English and French proficiency

Support VIA Rail’s environmental programs through risk analysis, ISO 14001, incident investigation, inspections, and bilingual stakeholder communication.
