This Recreation Therapist develops individualized care plans and goal-oriented services for clients. The position plans programs, community outings, and interventions while documenting care. It also supports interdisciplinary collaboration, family relationships, student placements, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess interests and complete individualized Recreation Therapy Care Plans
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate individual and group programs
- Organize community outings aligned with client interests
- Apply facilitation techniques, adaptations, and supportive communication
- Document services according to professional, agency, and government requirements
Requirements:
- Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or Therapeutic Recreation preferred
- Affiliation or eligibility with a professional organization
- Experience in rehabilitation, long-term care, or community outreach
- Advanced knowledge of aging and dementia
- Strong leadership, organization, prioritization, and interpersonal effectiveness
