Support operating room coordination at Burnaby Hospital through reception, surgical scheduling, chart management, and accurate information systems work. This position is based in Burnaby.

Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Services or designate, the Operating Room Unit Clerk provides clerical, reception, and statistical support. Responsibilities include booking emergency cases, retrieving charts, entering surgery information, coordinating patient-related services, and maintaining records. The role supports Fraser Health’s extensive surgery program.

Key Responsibilities:

- Answer telephones, relay messages, and refer routine inquiries
- Book emergency cases and notify appropriate departments, physicians, anaesthetists, and staff
- Retrieve charts and attach medication orders or laboratory reports




- Enter surgery information and distribute operating room slates
- Coordinate scheduling, transportation, blood bank, and related patient services

Requirements:

- Grade 12 and recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program graduation
- One year recent related experience or equivalent education, training, and experience
- Medical terminology education from a recognized program
- Typing speed of 40 words per minute
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
