Protect Shaw University’s campus as a part-time Security Officer, using vigilant patrol, emergency response, and skilled judgment across flexible shifts.

Reporting to the Platoon Leader, you will maintain safety for people and property throughout assigned campus areas. Duties include foot or vehicle patrols, escorts, traffic direction, building security, alarm response, and incident reporting. You will support students, faculty, staff, visitors, medical personnel, and law enforcement while applying university procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Patrol campus buildings and grounds to detect suspicious activity
- Provide escorts, emergency transportation, and motorist assistance
- Respond rapidly to intrusion, fire, and security alarms
- Secure buildings, gates,



and authorized campus areas
- Prepare accurate reports and protect identified crime scenes

Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of customer service experience preferred
- Ability to analyze emergencies calmly and determine appropriate action
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- Proficiency with issued equipment, including baton, spray, and handcuffs
