Cryptic Characters is hiring part-time/casual Character Hosts.

Cryptic Characters is an escape room that specialises in providing immersive storytelling and game play for our players. We are looking to add a couple more hosts to our team.

Our Character Hosts, in costume and character, introduce groups of players to their adventure, while also providing critical information. The host then watches the players on the security camera system, providing hints via walkie talkie.

In addition to running the escape rooms, Character Hosts perform a variety of customer service duties including checking in guests, explaining gameplay rules, taking bookings, answering the phones and accepting payment. Professionalism is expected at all times while interacting with guests.

Other duties, as needed:

- Cleaning
- Assisting with repairs and maintenance




- Assisting with our social media presence
- Occasional help with large group bookings outside of "typical" hours
- Contributing to the development and testing of current puzzles and escape room scenarios
- The starting wage for this position is $17.50 per hour.

- The ability to adapt and learn new skills quickly
- The ability to work as part of a team, as well as being a self starter
- At this time we are able to offer casual hours, 5-15 hours per week. These hours would primarily be on weekends and weekday evenings.
- Acting training/experience, particularly improv, is an asset. As is experience in customer service and sales.
