Support crop scouting and soil sampling at Lacombe Agro Centre as an Agronomy Summer Student with Central Alberta Co-op. This full-time prospect requires careful fieldwork and communication.
This temporary Agronomy Summer Student contract lasts approximately five months, starting in March or April 2027. You will assist the Agronomy team with crop scouting, field trials, customer service, chemical handling, and operational duties. The position is 40 hours weekly, primarily weekdays, with potential spring weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist crop scouting and field trials while gathering agronomy data
- Provide excellent customer service for all guests
- Maintain chemical storage and safe handling practices
- Deliver chemicals under safety and operational guidelines
- Complete general operational duties and assigned manager requests
Requirements:
- Post-secondary enrollment in Agronomy or Sciences
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds physically
- Customer service experience is preferred
