Support meal service at Extendicare Athabasca as a part time Dietary Aide Cook, preparing food and maintaining safe serving temperatures.

Reporting to the Dietary Manager, this position supports residents in a 50 bed long term care facility. Duties include serving meals according to individual diets and preferences, preparing straightforward foods, cleaning equipment, and following departmental procedures. The schedule includes days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve meals according to residents’ diets and preferences
- Prepare salads, vegetables, fruits, breakfasts, desserts, and garnishes
- Record food and refrigerator temperatures
- Clean cooking areas, equipment, utensils, pots, and pans




- Receive supplies and organize storage areas weekly

Requirements:

- Previous dietary experience preferred in long term care
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions
- Ability to stand, lift moderately to heavily, and work cold
- Availability for scheduled days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
