Prepare and distribute meals at the Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre while handling food preparation, sanitation, and cleaning duties.

As General Help, you will support meal service for correctional centre units. Your work includes preparing food, portioning regular and special diet trays, delivering carts, and maintaining clean storage and service areas. You will follow schedules, food safety procedures, and management directions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables
- Prepare, cook, or pan food according to schedules
- Count, weigh, and measure production ingredients
- Portion meal and special diet trays
- Deliver carts and clean dishes, pots, and equipment

Requirements:

- Grade 12 or equivalent education, training, and experience
- Food Safe Level 1 certificate or provincial equivalent
- Clean criminal record maintained as required
- Effective written and verbal English communication
- Physical ability to perform job-related tasks
