Operate excavating equipment in Sudbury while supporting copper and fiber optic telecommunications construction across Northern Ontario. Read plans and maintain secure, efficient sites.
VistaCare seeks an Excavator Operator for permanent, full-time operations in Canada. The work supports overhead and underground telecommunications infrastructure installation and maintenance. You will use excavators, hand tools, and powered equipment while adapting to rural, isolated, wilderness, and varying-weather locations. Responsibilities include supporting Line Technicians, completing reports, and communicating milestones or delays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavating equipment for telecommunications construction projects
- Set up materials for Line Technicians on site
- Read plans and diagrams to meet work specifications
- Complete work reports and safety forms accurately
- Maintain clean, safe work sites and vehicles
Requirements:
- General civil construction knowledge
- Experience operating backhoes, excavators, or cable trenchers
- Valid DZ driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to lift and carry more than 60 pounds
- Willingness to work out of town, overtime, weekends, or callouts
