Jobs (Calgary): Production Assistant Summer Contract – Trickster Theatre

Trickster Theatre is seeking a highly organized and hands–on Production Assistant to support our summer overhaul and preparation period. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical theatre work, organization, and behind‑the‑scenes production support in a fast‑paced touring setting.

The successful candidate will assist with equipment maintenance, inventory systems, costume and prop management, puppet care, digital updates,



and support for training and documentation resources.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the maintenance, testing, repair, and organization of lighting, sound, video, and staging equipment
- Assist with digital upgrades for computers, software, and audio libraries
- Inventory, clean, repair, and organize costumes, props, and large-scale puppets
- Support updates to procedural manuals and training materials for staff and educators
- Assist with organizing touring rigs, storage systems, and production inventories
- Contribute to resource development for artist training programs and educational materials

Qualifications

- Experience or interest in technical theatre production or backstage operations
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable handling equipment, inventory systems, and physical tasks
- Experience with Google Workspace considered an asset
- Interest in theatre education, touring productions, and arts organizations
