Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Load, unload, and operate washers, tumble dryers, extractors, elevators, hoists, and any other equipment required.
- Ensure the effective flow of textiles and supplies throughout the production process and monitor quality.
- Promptly report any equipment breakdowns or operational issues.
- Accurately enter data into the washing and drying systems.
- Transport textiles to and from the work area.
- Consistently comply with workplace efficiency and safety standards.
- Follow instructions provided by supervisors.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and orderly.
- In the sorting department, oversee the unloading of soiled linens.
- Manage personnel and arrange for replacements when necessary.

Additional Duties

- Work in other production positions as needed.

Qualifications

- Ability to identify colors, sizes, and different types of products, as well as count items.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, and counting.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.





Typical Physical Activities

- The physical requirements involve heavy material handling and include kneeling, bending, reaching, standing, walking, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, gripping, hearing, seeing, lifting loads of up to 90 pounds, and crouching.
- Ability to consistently meet the physical demands of the position throughout the entire work shift.

Typical Work Environment

Work takes place in the production areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, where temperatures may vary and the environment may include odors, moisture, lint, and dust.

Soiled textiles come from a variety of customers, including restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, and retail businesses.
