The Technical Director is a directorial position operating with authority from the Artistic Director. This role supports development of RFT’s future venue while maintaining technical resources, coordinating technicians, and ensuring performances run safely, smoothly, and on time. Strong communication and time management are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advise development of future performance spaces and technical elements
- Coordinate lighting, sound, video, cues, supplies, and equipment
- Hire, train, manage, and schedule improvising technicians




- Establish safety procedures and maintain production equipment
- Coordinate visiting festival acts, installs, strikes, and set construction

Requirements:

- Five-plus years of relevant technical theatre experience
- Five-plus years managing a team
- Experience teching improvised theatre and scheduling
- Experience in budget development
- Advanced proficiency with Light, Sound, QLab, and office software
