Operate water and wastewater facilities with OCWA, applying treatment knowledge, maintenance skills, and regulatory awareness across Ontario communities. On-call availability is required.

This Water and Wastewater Operator role supports secure facility operation and maintenance within the Region. You will monitor processes, inspect equipment, complete preventive maintenance, and adjust operations when needed. The position combines wastewater treatment expertise with water treatment, collection, distribution, and supply responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain regional water and wastewater facilities
- Inspect, monitor, and troubleshoot facility processes and equipment
- Take samples, interpret results, and adjust process controls




- Perform preventive maintenance and manual labour
- Maintain accurate logs and write operational reports

Requirements:

- Hold Class 1 wastewater and water certifications
- Possess a valid Class G driver’s license
- Understand wastewater treatment processes and operating requirements
- Know relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Remain available for overtime and rotating on-call response
