This hands-on Assistant Produce Manager works alongside the Produce Manager to lead staff and maintain department performance. Use produce ordering, rotation, merchandising, quality control, POS software, and basic spreadsheets. Support a locally owned market serving local growers, vendors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan orders around sales, seasonality, promotions, and stock levels
- Build attractive displays featuring seasonal and local products
- Check freshness, rotate stock, and coordinate returns
- Maintain pricing, signage, movement records, and inventory counts




- Train staff and communicate daily department priorities

Requirements:

- Previous produce experience and one year managing or supervising
- Knowledge of ordering, merchandising, rotation, and quality control
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Confidence using ordering systems, POS, and basic spreadsheets
- Availability for wide-ranging shifts and one weekend day
