This Pharmacy Assistant handles technical prescription-filling tasks and administrative support under the Pharmacist’s direction. You assess prescription completeness, enter patient information, process refills, and prepare products for checking. The work also includes accuracy programs, product selection, labeling, and approvals for authorized verbal refills. Support for Cognitive Services and over-the-counter operations is included when assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess prescriptions for patient, prescriber, and coverage information
- Perform data entry, profile checks, refills, and report generation
- Select, count, measure, label,
and organize prescription products
- Complete seven-point, visual, and DIN accuracy checks
- Facilitate approvals and support Cognitive Services activities
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to follow Pharmacist supervision during prescription filling
- Ability to interpret written prescriptions and drug names
- Ability to complete dosage calculations accurately
- Ability to perform directed computer functions
