Build high-performance diesel aftermarket products as a Transmission Assembly Technician at BD Diesel Performance, working Monday through Friday.
This Converter Technician I position supports the Transmission Department as BD Diesel Performance expands operations. You will handle torque converter teardown, cleaning, machining, subassembly pressing, final assembly, and testing. The role also includes balancing torque converters and flex plates, completing quality checks, and maintaining an organized, safe work area. Senior technicians or a supervisor provide close direction and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate pneumatic presses for converter subassemblies
- Use an engine lathe for component preparation
- Balance converters with specialized equipment and TIG welding
- Balance flex plates using equipment and a drill press
- Maintain clean, organized, and protected work areas
Requirements:
- Previous mechanical, automotive, manufacturing, or production experience is an asset
- Torque converter or transmission component experience is an asset
- Comfort operating shop equipment and using hand tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Develop technical skills through converter assembly, machining, balancing, and inspection work within BD Diesel Performance's Transmission Department.
