Operate essential water distribution systems with the City of Medicine Hat on-site as a temporary, full time Water and Sewer System Operator.

Reporting to Field Operations, this Level II position supports installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of water and wastewater infrastructure. You will maintain equipment, respond to public inquiries, diagnose faults, and support junior operators when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with water distribution and wastewater system infrastructure
- Operate Class 3 vehicles, tools, and department equipment
- Locate, diagnose, and repair system faults
- Respond professionally to public inquiries
- Perform weekend and call-out duties as needed

Requirements:

- Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma
- Valid Class 3 Alberta license with air endorsement
- Knowledge of water and wastewater industry practices
- Ability to work safely outdoors in extreme weather
- Level I certification required within the first employment year
