As Head of Engineering, you will direct technical functions for Hemlo’s integrated gold operation. The role covers mine planning, surveying, ground control, stope design, and execution. Reporting to the General Mine Manager, you will connect technical teams with operations while aligning plans with production targets and reserve strategy.
Key Responsibilities: Lead short-term, medium-term, and life-of-mine planning
Oversee stope design, sequencing, and drill-blast optimization
Coordinate plan execution with operations, maintenance, and processing
Guide mine design, ventilation, and ground control
Develop engineers, planners, and surveyors
Requirements: 15+ years of underground mining experience
Gold operations experience and Mining Engineering degree
Leadership experience overseeing engineering teams
Long hole stoping and underground mine planning knowledge
Deswik, Mine Sight, Vulcan, or similar software experience
