Provide compassionate phlebotomy and specimen collection as a Laboratory Assistant Float with Dynacare, working onsite across Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oakville, and Brampton.
This part time, one year contract guarantees 15 hours weekly. You will obtain patient specimens, conduct tests, and support positive patient experiences. The role requires careful documentation, customer service, and quality-focused laboratory practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain blood samples and other patient specimens
- Perform ECGs, Holter hookups, and specialized collections
- Enter patient and test information accurately
- Sort and prepare specimens for laboratory transportation
- Maintain confidentiality and support quality metrics
Requirements:
- Secondary School completion and laboratory assistant training
- Specialized phlebotomy training through a medical laboratory course
- Skill managing anxious patients with empathy
- Solid English communication skills, written and verbal
- MLPAO or CSMLS certification strongly recommended
