Reporting to the Solid Waste Manager, this position supports garbage collection, landfill operations, and recycling-area traffic. You will operate trucks, heavy equipment, and forklifts while serving customers courteously. The work includes records, fees, vehicle loads, and site safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect garbage and attend to vehicle loads
- Operate trucks, heavy equipment, and forklifts
- Open landfill gates according to schedule
- Verify incoming traffic and related paperwork
- Keep landfill and recycling areas clean and safe
Requirements:
- Class DZ driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Grade 12 preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
- First Aid and WHMIS training
- Basic mathematical skills and reliable attendance
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather
