Support long-term care meal service as a Dietary Aide at Extendicare, preparing food, stocking kitchenettes, and respecting residents’ dietary preferences.

This part time culinary position supports residents through dependable meal and nourishment service. You will assist cooks with basic food preparation, assemble nourishment carts, and keep dietary areas, equipment, and supplies organized. Established quality, safety, environmental, fire, and infection control procedures guide your work.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assemble nourishment carts and stock unit kitchenettes
- Assist cooks with salads, vegetables, fruits, and easy foods
- Clear trays and plates, then operate the dishwasher
- Clean cooking utensils, pots, pans, equipment, and serving areas




- Attend assigned meetings and in-service education programs

Requirements:

- Food Service Worker Program completion or enrollment required
- Current Food Handler’s Certificate required
- Ability to follow established safety practices and procedures
- Availability for days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Ability to understand simple verbal and written English instructions

Use dietary service, basic preparation, equipment cleaning, and safety skills supporting residents in long-term care.
