Summary of Position:

The Senior Hydraulic Technician at Oxford Hydraulics provides advanced technical support and ensures efficient, effective service delivery. The role troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues and installs, repairs, and maintains customer equipment. Senior-level responsibilities include supporting technicians, leading large projects, supporting problem-solving initiatives, delivering superior customer service, and championing company values to promote a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Hydraulic system design, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Provide specialist expertise in pumps, valves, and motors to support shop staff with diagnostics and troubleshooting as required.
- Provide technical support to both shop staff and customers, offering guidance and expertise on hydraulic system issues.
- Collaborate with customers and colleagues to understand equipment issues and discuss repair options.
- Test repaired machinery to ensure proper functioning and optimal performance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and maximize equipment longevity.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and history for each service.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in hydraulic systems, agricultural technology, construction and industrial machinery, attending training sessions and workshops as required.
- Work closely with the parts department and sales to identify technical parts necessary for jobs
- Identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues and conduct the associated service and repair work.
- Mobile onsite repair and diagnostics when required using company vehicle.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems using a variety of tools, diagnostic equipment, and manuals.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and parts replacements on machinery, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.




- Support customer service by effectively communicating with the Shop Manager to provide timely status updates.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure the proper use and storage of tools and equipment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

- Hold Red Seal or equivalent certification in hydraulics. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electronic controllers is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical or vocational program in hydraulics or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Hydraulic Technician with a strong understanding of agricultural, industrial and construction related machinery operation and maintenance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical and systems found in hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery, using both manual and computer-based diagnostic tools. Proficient at reading and understanding schematic drawings.
- Familiarity with equipment manufacturers' manuals, specifications, and parts catalogs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues promptly and provide effective solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities, ensuring accurate record-keeping and service documentation.
- Efficient time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with customers and effectively collaborate with team members.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to customer sites as needed.
- A solid commitment to workplace safety and adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
- Valid driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
