Job Title: Packaging Operator

Location: Orangeville, ON

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm

Pay Rate: $20 per hour to start
Job Summary: We are currently hiring for Packaging Operators for our client in the plant operations and supply chain department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fulfilling Packaging Orders efficiently according to company standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Wrap, weigh, rack, and package cheeses of all varieties
- Maintain data and record keeping as per SOP
- Ensure proper labeling regulations are followed
- Prevent losses and returns
- Check products for defects in accordance with Company standards
- Operate all packaging equipment within specifications and provide accurate detail to mechanical staff regarding equipment problems
- Operate the metal detector as per the SOP
- Ensure the proper selection, care and use of tools, parts and equipment required for specific tasks
- Ensure that machinery and equipment are clean, sanitized, and in good condition before and after use
- Always maintain proper supply levels of packaging materials
- Ensure packaging area is clean, tidy, and organized
- Practice proper hand-washing techniques
- Communicate necessary information to others in a timely and accurate manner
- Strict adherence to all Company established procedures and policies, including Food Handling, Health and Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Special projects or other duties as required

Requirements:

- Secondary Education




- Minimum 6 months of previous experience preferred, along with knowledge of MS Office applications
- Robust attention-to-detail, safety/hygiene awareness, and judgment
- Strong teamwork, work standards, communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Flexibility, adaptability, reliability, initiative, confidentiality, and stress tolerance
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, frequent deadline environment
- Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, and carry/lift 25 lbs
- Comfort working with knives, scales, pallet jacks, and computers in a cold environment with odours
