Lead municipal planning, inspections, and bylaw enforcement for the District of North Saanich on British Columbia’s scenic Saanich Peninsula.Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director oversees the Planning and Community Services Department. This senior management position coordinates workloads, advises Council and senior management, and advances North Saanich’s strategic goals. The role covers planning, subdivision, building inspection, business licenses, and municipal bylaws.Key Responsibilities:
Direct departmental functions, workloads, schedules, procedures, and performance standardsEnsure compliance with Council directives and policiesAdvise Council, the CAO, and senior managementPrepare reports, correspondence, budgets,



and financial plansManage staff performance and departmental consultant contractsRequirements:
Six years’ public planning experience, including supervisionDegree in planning or related discipline with supplemental coursesMembership in the Canadian Institute of PlannersKnowledge of planning law, land use regulation, and bylawsLeadership, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution trainingApply municipal planning leadership, policy knowledge, and departmental management experience as North Saaniss Director of Planning and Community Services.
