Lead high-voltage protection and control engineering for Qualus across Canada, applying system-level judgment to utility and renewable energy projects.As a Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across projects from 12 kV to 500 kV. The work spans concept, construction, and commissioning while supporting engineers, designers, utilities, and renewable energy clients. You will own complex technical decisions and mentor others.Key Responsibilities:
Govern protection, control, and metering standards across projectsApprove drawings, philosophies, schematics, layouts, and wiring diagramsReview coordination studies and relay settingsSupport testing, inspections, commissioning, and outage planningMentor engineers and improve engineering practicesRequirements:
20+ years of utility protection, control, and metering experienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringCanadian Qualified Engineer registration or eligibilityExpertise in substation protection philosophy and transmission systemsKnowledge of ASPEN, CAPE, EasyPower, SKM, SEL, or GE platformsBring principal-level technical authority, protection expertise, and mentoring capability to Qualus power infrastructure projects across Canada.
