Permanent full-time

Based in Fort McMurray, the Career Counsellor will be responsible for working with clients to assess skills, organize and facilitate training, identify training and/or employment opportunities, and assist clients with their job search activities. Connecting participants with appropriate community resources, available through the Government of Alberta, Federal Government Services, and local agencies and service providers

Timely report writing, following current templates, guides, standards, and processes

University Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences or related field including Kinesiology, Community Rehabilitation, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Social Work, Education, etc.

Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CCRC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE), or Registered Rehabilitation Qualified (RRP), alongside membership the Vocational Rehabilitation Association in Canada considered highly advantageous.

An excellent understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity





Candidates should have a strong understanding of the Alberta labour market and educational programming opportunities

Case management experience an asset

Intermediate to advanced computer skills

Knowledgeable with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, as well as key job search sites including Glassdoor, Indeed , CareerBuilder for job searching and applications

May be required to work evenings and/or weekends
