The Alberta Court of Justice and Alberta Justice are considering qualified lawyers for Justice of the Peace appointments. Applicants must be Canadian citizens and Law Society of Alberta members in good standing. Related experience at the Bar, integrity, qualified excellence, and community awareness guide eligibility and consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a full-time or part-time Justice of the Peace

Work required shifts across various Alberta locations

Complete the required screening process

Undergo security screening when requested

Serve a ten-year appointment term

Requirements:

Canadian citizenship

Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta

Minimum five years of related experience at the Bar

Integrity, professional excellence, and community social awareness

Cultural sensitivity and personal suitability
