We can't wait to meet you!POSITION SUMMARY:Our Event Security are an integral part of our event operations team, as they are responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests and employees during hockey and lacrosse games and concerts at Rogers Arena. Applicants must possess (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid security license and be available for a two-day mandatory training session. This is a part-time, hourly, events-based position.A typical shift includes:Ensuring the safety of our guests and employees by dealing with alcohol, loss prevention, and crowd management-related issuesDirecting and assisting our guests with any service-related issuesCommunicating with coworkers and other departments via radioOther duties as requiredREQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess a valid Security LicenseMust be able to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays with a start time of approximately 5:30pmMust be able to physically manage an unruly guestMust be able to handle periodic lifting requirements of approximately 30 lbs. of weight (e.G., assist with strollers, wheelchairs, etc.)Must be able to stand, walk,



and ascend stairs for the duration of the shiftMust be able to work in a noisy and crowded environmentAbility to learn and manage various programs including emergency response system, crowd control, lost children, alcohol program, etc.Experience in a security or crowd management roleExperience working with the general public in a service-oriented roleNon-Canadian residents must hold a valid work permit with a minimum of 8 months of validity remainingA solid understanding of and commitment to uphold our company values of discipline, respect, excellent, attitude, and mindset (DREAM)Successful completion of customer service training (e.G., Super Host, Hospitality training) and/or training in assisting the special needs public is an assetThis is an onsite role at Rogers Arena in downtown VancouverPlease note that mandatory training sessions will begin in August.Mandatory two-day security training will be held (dates TBD).
