Our financial services client is seeking a Consultant, Governance & Controls (5+ years) to support governance and control assessments using Workday implementation and HR process documentation

Join a governance and controls team supporting a large-scale Workday transition project within a major financial services environment. This role focuses on governance support, control assessments, process documentation, control testing, and ongoing business-as-usual activities across HR operations. The position offers exposure to enterprise governance frameworks and cross-functional collaboration with HR and business stakeholders. This is a backfill opportunity supporting a high-visibility transformation initiative.

Contract 6 months (possibility of extension),

Toronto, Hybrid,Every Monday & First Friday of the month

Must Haves

You have relevant experience in controls management with robust knowledge of operational controls, and regulatory compliance management controls, preferably in Human Resources - 5+ years





5+ years of hands-on experience in governance, risk and controls preferably in HR (ex. understanding of payroll, recruitment cycles)

Strong knowledge of HR processes and process documentation - 2+ years

Experience with banking or large and complex organizations - 3+ years

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Responsibilities

- Support governance activities related to the Workday transition project and business-as-usual operations
- Conduct control assessments for Workday implementation activities
- Develop and maintain process documentation
- Perform control testing and document testing results
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather required artifacts
- Assess existing controls and identify requirements for additional controls
- Support the implementation and maintenance of governance and control processes

Primarily IT and IT control testing backgrounds

Candidates whose experience is mostly technology
