Lead Downstage’s fund development and financial administration from its Arts Commons office in downtown Calgary, working part time.

This one-year Managing Director contract works closely with Artistic Director Ellen Close. The position supports artistic excellence and community impact through fundraising, production administration, financial records, and reporting. Downstage produces Canadian plays addressing social issues and improving theatre access.

Key Responsibilities:

- Track fundraising targets, prospects, and amounts raised
- Identify funding opportunities and write grant proposals
- Administer donors, recognition events, and charitable casino activities
- Contract artists and schedule auditions
- Maintain financial records and complete required reports

Requirements:

- Familiarity with theatrical production processes
- Robust written and in-person communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management
- Confidence solving problems under pressure
- Comfort using MS Office and other computer programs
