General DescriptionTool Setters are responsible for ensuring that the forming and punch tools and/or controls on a particular machine or process line are set up correctly. The main function is to ensure that all the equipment is set up correctly and that these conditions are maintained to the same standard throughout the production period. calipers, and basic computer skillsCan prioritize jobs; Can communicateeffectively in a team environmentResponsibilitiesTroubleshooting jammed or inoperative presses, clamps, etc.Assisting in returning equipment to operationSelect, install, and adjust alignment of drills, shear blades, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.Align layout marks with dies or blades.Change worn machine accessories such as cutting tools and brushes, using hand tools.Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpiecesRecord operational data such as pressure readings, lengths of strokes, feed rates, and speeds.Operate hand tools, angle & pedestal grinders, mag. drill as requiredInstruct other workers in machine setup and operation.Follow all safety, quality and environmental policiesOther duties as assigned
