Support aquatic programs at Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex with customer service, safety awareness, and current aquatic certifications. This casual part time role includes evenings and weekends.

The City of Waterloo seeks Aquatic Assistants for temporary assignments of up to 18 months. You will support programs and special events while helping maintain secure, clean pool areas. Duties include waterslide, wading pool, splash pad, and swim lesson support. The position offers up to 24 hours weekly, subject to seasonal programming.

Key Responsibilities:
Support aquatic programs and special events
Assist with waterslides, wading pools, and splash pads
Provide customer service and public education




Assist with swim lesson planning and evaluations
Maintain protected and clean pool areas

Requirements:
Current Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard certification
Current Assistant Instructor certification from LSS, YMCA, or Red Cross
Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification
Be at least 14 years old when applying
Attend mandatory staff training and maintain certifications
