Position SummaryWe are seeking experienced Pipelayers to join our high-growth organization. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, driven individual with strong leadership skills who takes pride in their work. The Pipelayer plays a key role in meeting project deadlines and supporting overall customer satisfaction.Core ResponsibilitiesPerform grade checking and verification using levels, lasers, and grade stakes to ensure accurate elevations and alignmentInterpret construction drawings, specifications, and pipe profiles for underground servicing installationEstablish and maintain grades for excavation, bedding, and pipe installationInstall underground utilities including storm, sanitary, and watermain systemsLay, align, and join pipe sections (PVC, concrete, HDPE, ductile iron) to required line and gradePrepare trenches, including bedding and backfill, in accordance with project specificationsDirect and assist equipment operators during excavation, trenching, and backfilling operationsEnsure proper compaction and installation of materials to meet engineering standardsLocate and identify existing underground utilities and ensure secure excavation practicesWork closely with survey crews, supervisors, and inspectors to maintain accuracy and tolerancesInspect pipe installation to ensure quality, line, and grade complianceSafely operate tools and equipment including lasers, pipe lasers, compactors, and hand toolsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including trench safety and shoring practicesFollow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsWear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesSupport labourers and junior crew members as neededPerform other duties as assignedQualifications3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction,



specifically underground pipe installationProven experience as a Pipelayer on municipal or infrastructure projectsStrong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, profiles, and grade stakesSolid understanding of elevations, slopes, and grade control for underground servicesExperience installing storm, sanitary, and watermain systemsKnowledge of trenching, shoring, and excavation safety requirementsProficient with layout equipment including lasers and pipe lasersExperience working around heavy equipment and directing operators safelyStrong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and qualityFidelity Group of Companies welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
