As a Financial Counselor in the CANCER CENTER NL, you will meet with every patient and explain financial responsibility using treatment plans and insurance advantages. The position supports both Silver Cross Hospital and the University of Chicago. Responsibilities include telephone inquiries, online verification, account review, and collaboration across billing, collections, customer service, and financial counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

- Meet with every patient regarding treatment-related financial responsibility
- Use telephone, internet, worklists, ATBs, and letters appropriately
- Respond to charge, billing complaint,



and diagnosis change inquiries
- Coordinate communications with billing and collections teams
- Assist training new employees in financial counseling processes

Requirements:

- Minimum two years in registration, scheduling, or patient accounts
- Experience with cash collections or insurance benefit verification
- Excellent guest relations, verbal, and written communication skills
- Expert knowledge of health insurance and third party payers
- High school diploma or GED required
