This is a great opportunity that can provide flexibility, valuable work experience, and a chance to work with a tenured team.Job Title: Houseperson***Please note: By applying to this posting, you are applying for opportunities that may be available at any Vintage Hotels or Niagara's Finest Hotels property. ***This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with laundry and maintaining public areas in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.Duties and Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities:Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunityEnsure all laundry bags go from room areas to laundry roomMaintain the public areas of cleaning floors vacuuming and polishing banisters if neededRestocking all suppliesCarries or transports laundry bags from room areas to the laundry roomCleans public areas consisting of sweeping, vacuuming, washing and polishing wherever required, the floors, banisters, walls and other areas as neededAnswers questions and responds to Guest concerns within his/her knowledge as requestedCleans windows in hallways or anywhere requestedCleans washrooms and meeting roomsEmpties garbage from Room Attendant carts and offices daily (Niagara properties only)Stocks all housekeeping areas with suppliesPicks up and stores weekly orders of goods from receivingHaving a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties' products and servicesSuggesting additional products and services meeting our Guests' specific preferencesAssessing Guests' individual needs to meet standards for additional products and servicesActively seeking ways to meet Guests' product or service needsMust be available for 8am - 4pm shifts.Secondary Responsibilities:Help other departments when requestedTurn in any found articles to the Housekeeping Supervisor on dutyAll other duties as assignedTechnical/Managerial/Administrative Requirements:One year guest service experienceProfessional Requirements:Grade 12 education (not mandatory but an asset)Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an assetWHMIS training is considered an assetPersonal Attributes:Positive interpersonal skillsGood personal hygieneOutgoing and self-confidentConfidence in selling and up-selling products and servicesPositive sales-oriented personalityDesire to meet goalsEthical and honestPhysical Demands:Must be able to lift 20-50 lbsMust be able push/pull linen cartsWalking and standing over extended periods of timeLais Hotel Properties Limited is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and accessible workplace where all individuals are valued and respected.
