Drive accurate financial reporting at CPKC through project analysis, journal entries, and reconciliations. Support accounting standards and internal controls across major expenditures.

This Senior Project Accountant role, internally Specialist Project Accounting, reports to the Manager, Project Accounting. You will prepare project spend reporting, examine accounting concerns, and ensure financial data generation complies with SOX requirements. Your work supports financial statements and reporting for more than $2.5 billion in annual capital project expenditures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare quarterly and annual analyses of project spend
- Post journal entries leading to financial statements
- Analyze and reconcile inconsistent financial information




- Ensure financial data processes meet SOX requirements
- Respond to auditors and internal reviewers

Requirements:

- Degree in commerce, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or relevant field
- Professional accounting designation such as CPA or CFA
- At least three years of related financial experience
- Practical application of financial principles and theories
- Team-oriented approach with multiple stakeholders
