The Clinical Coding Specialist works within Coding and Health Information for St. Joseph’s Health System. The position codes and abstracts inpatient and outpatient encounters while supporting comprehensive, accurate, and complete records. Duties follow CIHI standards and MOHLTC requirements, with computerized abstracting systems supporting DAD and NACRS.

Key Responsibilities:

- Code diseases and interventions for inpatient encounters

- Abstract inpatient and outpatient encounter information




- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and complete health records
- Carry out department goals and objectives

Requirements:

- CHIMA certification in good standing
