The Floor Covering Installer works at various locations, including employers’ and clients’ homes. Responsibilities include preparing floors, reading blueprints, estimating materials, and completing flooring tests before installations. Candidates need secondary school graduation and one to less than two years of experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces for floor coverings
Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding
Install resilient floor coverings and hardwood floors
Repair damaged coverings and remove existing materials

Requirements:
Secondary school graduation certificate
One to less than two years of experience
Experience with vinyl and resilient flooring
Experience with hardwood strip flooring
Ability to handle heavy loads and physical demands
