Support child and adolescent mental health in Nanaimo through psychiatry, consultation, and telepsychiatry outreach across Vancouver Island. This full-time role contributes to program development.

The Central Island Child And Adolescent Psychiatry Program seeks a Child And Adolescent Psychiatrist for several new services. Work includes pediatric ambulatory consultation, a children’s mental health day program, early psychosis intervention, and hospital liaison. Training medical students and residents is expected through the UBC Faculty of Medicine Island Medical Program, while research participation is strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop telepsychiatry outreach for underserviced Vancouver Island areas
- Consult with Pediatric Ambulatory Care at NRGH




- Contribute to the children’s mental health day program
- Support the Early Psychosis Intervention Program
- Provide consultation and liaison for admitted youth

Requirements:

- Full time Child And Adolescent Psychiatrist appointment
- Provide consultation within hospital and community services
- Train medical students and residents through Island Medical Program
- Apply for a clinical appointment
- Participation in research is strongly encouraged
