Operate essential water distribution systems with the City of Medicine Hat as a temporary, full time, on-site Water and Sewer Systems Operator. Apply equipment, repair, and communication skills in public service.

Reporting to Field Operations, this Level II position supports water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure. You will assist with installation, maintenance, repairs, fault diagnosis, equipment operation, and public inquiries. The assignment lasts up to six months and includes weekend duties and call-outs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with operating water and wastewater infrastructure
- Install, maintain, and repair system components
- Operate equipment, tools, and Class 3 vehicles safely
- Locate and diagnose system faults




- Respond professionally to public inquiries

Requirements:

- Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma
- Valid Class 3 Alberta licence with air endorsement
- Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Level I certification within one year
- Knowledge of industry practices, equipment, and methods
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks
