Support student mobility, hygiene, and safety as an Attendant for Handicapped Students, using individualized education plans and positive interpersonal skills.

This position assists students with special needs throughout school activities. Duties require experience with children, severe challenging behaviors, and teaching staff. The attendant supports classroom participation, personal care, supervision, and communication about student needs. Work is scheduled Monday to Friday, from 10:35 to 14:35.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist students moving between locations and vehicles
Support eating, drinking, dressing, hygiene, and washroom needs
Supervise recess, meals, naptime, recreation, and pool activities
Record observations and communicate student needs to designated staff




Administer medication and first aid according to requirements

Requirements:
DVS in patient or resident assistance, or equivalent credential
One year of pertinent experience in relevant areas
Experience supporting special needs children and severe challenging behaviors
Positive interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams
Current standard first aid and refresher certificates
