This Medical Laboratory Technician supports patient care through accurate laboratory testing and results. The discipline is Chemistry, with analyzer experience required, preferably Abbott Alinity, and recent chemistry experience preferred. Work is performed under direct supervision of a medical laboratory technologist.
Key Responsibilities: Perform manual and automated chemistry testing under supervision
Handle, prioritize, and enter specimens accurately
Prepare reagents and controls using defined procedures
Maintain instruments, equipment, supplies, and work areas
Identify incidents and non-conformances, escalating appropriately
Requirements: High School diploma
WHMIS training
Analyzer experience required, preferably Abbott Alinity
Recent Chemistry laboratory experience preferred
Ability to handle biohazardous materials and chemicals
Support LifeLabs testing in Mississauga through chemistry expertise, analyzer experience, accurate specimen handling, and careful laboratory procedures.
