Plumber Apprentice NOC: 72300

Salary: $30.00 to $42.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Advantages: Upon completion of a 3-month probationary period.

Job Duties and skill requirements:

- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors.
- Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
- Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.




- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.

Qualifications:

- Physical condition which allows for prolonged periods of standing, bending, walking, twisting, handling materials manually and making repetitive motions.
- Minimum 3-year work experience in the plumbing field.
- Must have Class 5 Drivers license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug tests.

Education Requirements/Credentials:

- Registered as a plumbing apprentice with Skilled Trades BC (ITA)
- Minimum Education: Combination of work experience in the trade and some high school
- Applicable industry safety tickets will be required. Aerial Work Platform, Fall protection, and First Aid.
