Operate trucks and collect garbage part time for the Municipality of West Nipissing, working up to 24 hours weekly. Outdoor duties require reliability and safety awareness.
Reporting to the Solid Waste Manager, this position supports garbage collection, landfill operations, and recycling-area traffic. You will operate trucks, heavy equipment, and forklifts while serving customers courteously. The work includes records, fees, vehicle loads, and site safety.
Key Responsibilities: Collect garbage and attend to vehicle loads
Operate trucks, heavy equipment, and forklifts
Open landfill gates according to schedule
Verify incoming traffic and related paperwork
Keep landfill and recycling areas clean and protected
Requirements: Class DZ driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
Grade 12 preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
First Aid and WHMIS training
Basic mathematical skills and reliable attendance
Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather
Bring safe equipment operation, dependable service, and public-facing skills to West Nipissing’s part time waste collection work.
