Support surgical teams at WRHN @ Midtown as a temporary full-time Unit Assistant, preparing operating rooms and transporting patients and supplies.
This Unit Assistant 5 position supports assigned patients within the Operating Room. You will assist Nurses, Surgeons, and Anesthetists while maintaining theatre flow and environmental support. The assignment runs approximately until September 30, 2027, with rotating days, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
Key Responsibilities: Transport patients and supplies throughout the Operating Room
Assist with assigned patient care and cleaning duties
Set up surgical theatres for effective patient care
Prepare rooms and sterile supplies for procedures
Support Nurses, Surgeons, and Anesthetists case by case
Requirements: Grade 12 education or equivalent
Mandatory CPR and OR Attendant course
MDRD Certification
Recent Operating Room experience is an asset
Ability to lift heavily and work independently
Bring communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills to support safe surgical care at WRHN @ Midtown in Kitchener.
