The Clinical Coding Specialist codes and abstracts inpatient and outpatient encounters within Coding and Health Information. The role supports comprehensive, accurate, and complete health records while meeting CIHI standards and MOHLTC requirements. CHIMA certification in positive standing and strong knowledge of coding practices are required.
Key Responsibilities: Code diseases and interventions for inpatient encounters
Classify diseases and interventions for outpatient encounters
Abstract encounter information using department systems




Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and complete health records
Support department goals and objectives
Requirements: CHIMA certification in good standing
Expert ICD-10-CA and CCI coding knowledge
Knowledge of DAD and NACRS abstracting systems
Working knowledge of CIHI standards and manuals
Prior coding experience, preferably in a teaching hospital
Bring certified clinical coding expertise and health information knowledge to inpatient and outpatient records at Charlton Campus.
