Support emergency veterinary care onsite in a hospital while developing skills in triage, treatments, diagnostics, and patient support. This full time role works directly with animals and pet parents.
At VEG, Emergency Veterinary Assistants support patients from arrival through treatment, working alongside registered veterinary technicians and veterinarians. You will assist with bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, oxygen support, anesthesia, sedation, fluids, transfusions, and medications. The role offers guided pathways toward advanced responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Welcome and triage incoming patients toward appropriate care
Assist with treatments, diagnostics, and veterinary care
Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases




Manage IV fluids, transfusions, and medication administration
Participate in rounds and maintain continuity of care
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required
One or more years as a veterinary assistant
Basic computer and medical recordkeeping skills
Robust communication and fine motor skills
Availability for rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
Build emergency veterinary experience at VEG through triage, clinical assistance, patient care, and guided learning.
