Prepare therapeutic meals as a part time Cook with Extendicare, applying food safety expertise in a resident-focused healthcare setting. Serve residents, guests, and employees with care.

Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services or Dietary Manager, the Cook prepares and delivers all foods. The work includes reviewing menus, following standardized recipes, and meeting meal service schedules. You will support special occasion meals while following dietary policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve meals attractively according to planned menus
- Prepare therapeutic and speciality diets for residents
- Complete temperature audits for fridges, freezers, and storerooms
- Record menu substitutions and daily audit findings accurately
- Follow production charts, recipes, budgets, and service schedules

Requirements:

- Food Handler’s Certificate required
- Large quantity food preparation experience preferred
- Healthcare or retirement setting experience preferred
- Knowledge of special and therapeutic diets
- Ability to lift heavy, hot items and stand
