Are you an experienced SEN Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker looking for a rewarding opportunity where you can make a genuine difference?

Connex Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Support Worker for a specialist educational setting in Handsworth, supporting learners with complex special educational needs. This role is ideal for candidates from a care, healthcare or support work background who prefer a holistic, person-centred approach rather than focusing solely on academic progress.

About the Setting
The specialist setting supports children and young people with a range of complex needs, providing tailored care and support to help them develop communication, independence, life skills and confidence.

The focus is on supporting the whole individual, including their physical, sensory, emotional and social development, within a nurturing environment where each learner’s individual needs are prioritised.

The Role

Supporting learners with complex SEN and a range of additional needs.

Providing personal care sensitively and respectfully.

Carrying out manual handling tasks safely, following individual care plans and appropriate training.

Supporting communication, sensory development and emotional wellbeing.

Helping learners develop independence and everyday living skills.

Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to provide consistent, individualised support.

What We’re Looking For

Robust experience supporting individuals with complex SEN or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

Confidence with personal care and manual handling.

Experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant.

A patient, compassionate and resilient approach.

A genuine passion for improving quality of life and promoting independence.

What’s on Offer?

£95–£105 per day, depending on experience.

Full‑time, long‑term opportunity.

Monday–Friday working pattern.

A rewarding role focused on wellbeing, independence and personal development.

Opportunities to develop your skills within a specialist setting.

If you’re an experienced Support Worker looking to transfer your skills into a specialist educational environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Connex Education Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and candidates to share this commitment. We adhere to Safer Recruitment practices in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, and other relevant legislation. All appointments are subject to rigorous pre‑employment checks, including references and an enhanced DBS check.
